We were super excited to hold our grand opening morning tea event with John Carey MLA and Mayor Emma Cole, on 10 August 2018 to celebrate our new nature playground installation!
The Committee is super excited and very grateful to have delivered on this project which has been 2 years in the making! We are grateful for the financial support received from John Carey, and for the ongoing support of our leaseholder, City of Vincent.
A new kitchen (with the most amazing splash back tiling!) and acoustic sound panelling in our “active zone” was installed as part of this ongoing renovation project, which commenced in 2015…
Most excitingly, we have transformed previously unutilised, sandy ‘dead’ space at our front doors, to a safe, enclosed and dedicated outdoor toddler play area for our members! A new timber fence was installed with many donations from our business supporters, and most importantly new nature play equipment, complete with timber steppers, logs, an activity & chalk wall, musical instruments and a tee-pee has all been installed!!
And the best part?? (other than being dedicated for us when in session?) – the nature playground equipment is available to be used by the general public when playgroup is not being used!
A “little slice of inner city heaven for parents and child alike” is what our Mayor Emma Cole called our little playgroup! ๐๐
